C.A.M.O.

CAMO – a Compassionate, Active, Military Outreach:
Supporting Spiritual Resiliency throughout
Joint Base McGuire Dix Lakehurst.

We are taking the Good News of the gospel directly to our Armed Forces members via personal outreach as we move around the base, personal & group Bible studies in their workplaces, personal interaction in the dormitories, and assisting the Chaplains during various chapel services and sponsored events.
We are doing our best to ensure that our military members are made aware of all known good fundamental churches near where they live. Just as we are members of a local church here and we encourage them to participate in local church activities because that is God’s plan. As our military personnel rotate to new duty stations we will be working to locate and recommend good churches to them where they can become involved and continue to grow. We will give them the contact information for the church and the pastor. We will also confirm the biblical convictions, to the best of our knowledge, of all churches that we recommend and will not knowingly recommend any church that does not hold to our Biblical convictions.

Field of Ministry

The place God has now called us to is unique. Naval Air Engineering Station Lakehurst is the Northeast’s largest naval aviation installation. Lakehurst provides support for aircraft launch, recovery and support equipment systems for U.S. and Allied Naval Aviation Forces at sea and Marine Corps Expeditionary Aviation Forces ashore. Fort Dix is very involved in training, mobilizing and deploying Reserve and National Guard units overseas. Fort Dix has sent soldiers to Operation Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Bosnia, Afghanistan, and Iraq. Many hundreds of thousands of Air Force, Army, Navy, and Marine Corps personnel have left the United States for overseas locations from McGuire Air Force Base. The men and women of McGuire AFB are involved with regular deployments of airlift and aerial refueling aircraft as well as support elements for combat operations. In 2008 24.4% of the active duty military deaths were a result of hostile action. 20% of the deaths were as a result of self-inflicted injuries.
On October 1, 2009, the three installations of McGuire Air Force Base, Fort Dix Army Base, and Naval Air Engineering Station Lakehurst combined to form Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.
It is because of supporting people and other local churches that we are able to take the Gospel to our military in this way. It is no small thing to support our Armed Forces and do all we can to lead them to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus. There is nothing more patriotic than leading a Soldier, Sailor, Airman, Coast Guardsman, or Marine to the Lord. After all, it is the military men and women who protect our freedom to worship and spread the gospel. We believe that we can, by God’s grace, make a difference in the lives of our military personnel.
Our ministry Director is available to assist with anything relating to the military as well as present his ministry or preach during mission conferences. Please feel free to call or text Ministry Director Arlan Davis at 850-528-5235.

Ministry Goals

Take the Gospel to them (active & reserve military, national guard, retirees, prior service, and anyone else that God brings across our path) wherever they are via personal outreach, personal Bible study, and group Bible study.

Show the love of the Lord Jesus to them by listening to them and having compassion on them as they live each day.

Encourage new converts to be baptized and join a local New Testament Church.

Teach the truth of the Bible in personal or group settings so they will grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Provide personal Bible study material to facilitate this personal growth.

Encourage them to begin or participate in Bible studies and services wherever they are.
